Job summary

Corning Incorporated in Poland seeks an experienced R&D System Integration Engineer to join the Metrology Engineering team. You will integrate and validate advanced measurement systems for micro-optics and co-packaged optics connectivity.

You will work at the interface of optics, mechanics, automation, software, and manufacturing to translate innovative concepts into robust, scalable systems for production and ongoing improvement.

Qualifications

• Master's or bachelor's degree in optics, photonics, physics, mechatronics, automation, mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with system integration, test engineering, automation engineering, or a related role.
• Experience integrating multidisciplinary systems involving mechanics, optics, sensors, motion control, and software.
• Familiarity with cleanroom ISO standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Integrate complex measurement and test systems combining optical, mechanical, electrical, and software components.
• Support the development, assembly, commissioning, and validation of advanced metrology systems for R&D and manufacturing applications.
• Collaborate with R&D, process engineering, automation, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful system integration and deployment.
• Troubleshoot system-level issues related to hardware, alignment, motion control, sensors, optics, and data acquisition.
• Develop and execute system integration plans, test protocols, and validation procedures.
• Optimize system performance in terms of accuracy, repeatability, throughput, and reliability.
• Support the transfer of newly developed measurement systems into production environments.
• Document system architecture, integration steps, test results, and technical recommendations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities related to system robustness, maintainability, and industrialization.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies in metrology, automation, micro-optics, and precision engineering.
