Job summary

Aptiv is seeking a Materials Engineer in Krakow for a fixed-term contract to support product and process development through material characterization, testing and failure analysis. You will work with cross‑functional teams to solve material-related problems and develop cost-effective solutions.

Responsibilities include performing SEM/FTIR analyses, documenting results, and maintaining material specifications. Collaboration with suppliers and labs is essential to drive project success.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Metallurgy or related field.
• Knowledge of engineering materials, their properties, processing, applications and characterization methods.
• Practical laboratory experience and willingness to perform laboratory investigations independently.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform materials laboratory testing and characterization (SEM, FTIR, microscopy, cross‑section, CT).
• Prepare samples, perform analyses, document results and translate findings into conclusions.
• Support failure analysis and root cause investigations related to materials and processes.
• Collaborate with engineers, suppliers and laboratories to resolve technical issues and deliver project activities.
