Job summary
Hitachi Energy in Krakow recruits a Research Scientist to advance material characterization, modeling, and application in energy technologies. You will join a multidisciplinary team to drive innovation and develop insights from experimental data.
The role combines experimental work with numerical modeling, aiming to deliver reliable, scalable solutions and collaborate with product development teams across borders. English fluency and a proactive, collaborative mindset are essential.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline.
- Proven experience in material characterization, experimental testing, and application of material data in engineering or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of numerical modeling methods (e.g., FEM), material behavior modeling, parameter identification, and model validation.
- Experience with complex material systems, multi‑physics phenomena, and data analysis; Python, MATLAB, or AI/ML experience is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and international teams; fluent in English.
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to R&D projects focused on advanced material characterization, application, and predictive modeling.
- Develop and implement innovative experimental methods, including non‑destructive testing techniques, to assess material performance under realistic operating conditions.
- Identify and characterize critical material properties and translate experimental findings into engineering‑relevant data and insights.
- Build and validate numerical material models, supporting simulation‑driven product development and engineering decision‑making.
- Collaborate closely with product development teams to enable the effective application of advanced materials in industrial products.
- Drive knowledge transfer and strengthen internal expertise in material characterization, qualification, and application methodologies.
- Explore emerging technologies, digital tools, and AI/ML approaches to enhance material modeling and prediction capabilities.
- Promote innovation through technical publications, patents, conference participation, and collaboration with external research partners.
