Job summary

Aptiv in Krakow is seeking a Materials Engineer to join its Materials Engineering team on a fixed-term contract. You will conduct material characterization, laboratory testing, and failure analysis to support product development and supplier collaboration.

You will work with Product Engineering, Process Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing to solve material-related technical problems and deliver cost-effective material solutions.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a materials-related field is required.
• Hands-on experience with materials testing and analysis.
• Knowledge of SEM, FTIR and microscopy techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform materials laboratory testing and characterization (SEM, FTIR, microscopy, CT/X-ray) and cross-section analysis.
• Prepare samples, document results and translate findings into conclusions.
• Support failure analysis and root cause investigations related to materials and processes.
• Assist in material selection, qualification and issue resolution with engineers and suppliers.
• Prepare and maintain material specifications and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with suppliers and laboratories on material qualification and PPAP.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of lab methods and data.
