Job summary

Aptiv is seeking a Test Development Engineer to design and implement advanced test processes for mass production, enabling safer, greener, and more connected mobility solutions. You will lead the creation and optimization of test software and equipment, collaborating with global manufacturing teams to ensure robust, efficient test coverage.

The role requires strong C/C++/Python skills, experience with NI TestStand and LabVIEW, and a proactive, analytical mindset for fault-finding and process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field with relevant experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++ or Python and test software development.
• Experience with test automation platforms (NI TestStand, LabVIEW).
• Knowledge of electronic measurement devices and test equipment.
• Basic to intermediate mechanical design for fixtures and setups.
• Project management experience with structured work approach.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with debugging experience.
• Ability to collaborate in a global, cross-functional environment.
• Self-motivated, proactive, results-driven.
• Fluent in Polish and business English.

Responsibilities

• Lead acquisition of new test equipment (SOW, RFQ, supplier nomination, design reviews, acceptance) and align with industrialization timing.
• Develop and optimize test software/programs for functional and electrical tests.
• Install, debug and release test equipment with test software development, strain measurements, and process capability studies.
• Document and train on test equipment and processes per Aptiv guidelines.
• Ensure compliance of test equipment with product quality, test requirements, and costs (functional safety, CyberSecurity, customer needs).
• Perform test-coverage analysis and ensure adequate coverage for the test process.
• Support product development and collaborate with Lead Manufacturing Engineer to enable flawless launches using tools like P-FMEA, error-proofing, and Six Sigma.

As a Test Development Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and implementing advanced test processes that bring innovative products to life in mass production. You'll be part of a global, diverse, and collaborative team, driving excellence in manufacturing and making a real impact on the future of mobility and intelligent systems.

Your Role:

• Lead the acquisition of new test-equipment (Statement of work, Request for quotation, supplier nomination, design reviews, Equipment acceptance at supplier) and ensure compliance with industrialization timing.
• Be responsible to develop and optimize test software/programs for functional & electrical tests
• Cooperate with the Aptiv manufacturing location to install, debug and release the test-equipment (including Test Software development, strain measurements, process capability studies, Environmental Health and Safety review / release).
• Establish documentation and provide training for test-equipment and process in accordance to APTIV guidelines
• Ensure test equipment compliance in terms of product quality, test requirements (Functional safety, CyberSecuirty, customer requirements), and costs
• Facilitate test coverage analysis process, ensure appropriate test coverage for the assigned test process
• Support product development team and collaborate closely with Lead Manufacturing Engineer to ensure flawless launches by applying and supporting tools like (P-FMEA, Error proofing, Test coverage analysis, Six Sigma)

Your background:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, combined with relevant professional experience
• Strong software development skills, particularly in programming languages such as C, C++, or Python
• Experience with test automation platforms, ideally National Instruments TestStand and LabVIEW
• Solid understanding of electronic measurement devices and test equipment
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of mechanical design for test fixtures and setups
• Initial experience in project management with a structured and organized work approach
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including hands-on experience in software debugging
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a global, cross-functional environment
• Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven work style
• Fluent in Polish and business English
