Job summary

London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is building a brand-new Data as a Service team. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will define the technical direction, solve complex distributed systems challenges, and mentor engineers while delivering scalable data platform components.

You’ll work with Azure, containers, AKS, and Microsoft Fabric, drive CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate on API design to support reliable, secure, and observable services across LSEG’s global platforms.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to design and implement complex, distributed systems at scale.
• Strong programming with OO and functional patterns.
• Good understanding of relational databases and SQL (Spark SQL).
• Experience with cloud environments and modern infrastructure tooling.
• Knowledge of Data Lake concepts and change data capture techniques.
• Familiarity with AKS and Microsoft Fabric guiding architecture decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy applications across all software lifecycle phases.
• Architect and evolve distributed systems with resilience and observability.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated delivery and high-quality releases.
• Collaborate on API development and service-to-service communication.
• Work with Azure, containers, IaC to enable reliable deployments.
• Provide hands-on leadership through code reviews and design walkthroughs.
• Raise engineering quality by promoting reusable patterns and reducing duplication.
