Job summary

Spyro Soft is seeking a Lead ROS Engineer to drive the migration of an autonomous vehicle platform from ROS 1 to ROS 2. The role involves working on an existing production robotics system that integrates navigation, localization, vehicle control, GNSS, CAN-connected hardware, sensor suites, and higher-level autonomy capabilities.

Experience leading ROS 1 to ROS 2 migrations in autonomous platforms.
Strong C++ development skills with Python experience.
Proven Linux development and robotics integration expertise.

Responsibilities

Lead ROS 1 to ROS 2 migration activities for autonomous vehicle software.
Analyse, refactor, and migrate ROS-based components written in C++ and Python.
Migrate navigation, localization, autonomy, and vehicle control functionalities to ROS 2.
Integrate and validate vehicle sensors and hardware interfaces.
Configure DDS/QoS communication and address performance and reliability issues.
Perform integration, regression, simulation, and vehicle-level testing.
Collaborate with customer engineering teams and document migration decisions.
