Job summary

Baker Hughes in Warszawa, Poland, is seeking a Lead Engineer in Materials Science to drive the materials engineering efforts for subsea production systems. You will lead technical work across projects and tenders, coordinate with regional engineering teams, and ensure compliance with material standards while managing budgets and supplier documentation.

The role requires a MSc/BSc in materials-related fields and strong experience in corrosion, materials selection and fabrication processes.

Qualifications

• Hold a BSc or MSc in Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Corrosion or Welding.
• Significant experience within the Materials Engineering field, ideally in offshore or subsea oil and gas.
• Knowledge of corrosion mechanisms and corrosion prevention.
• Understanding of material manufacturing and fabrication processes such as forming, forging, heat treatment and welding.

Responsibilities

• Lead materials engineering efforts on product levels for assigned projects and tenders with efficiency and integrity.
• Perform contract reviews and highlight exceptions and clarifications.
• Communicate to project or tender teams that requirements and consequences are fully understood.
• Populate and use systems for requirements management, clarification registers, change tracker, risk register, etc.
• Ensure performance to budget for materials engineering on assigned projects.
• Oversee client communications and interactions on the project and follow up of materials manufacturing and welding activities.
• Oversee material selection, corrosion control, coatings and manufacturing methods in scope.
