Job summary

Astek in Poland is seeking a Materials Engineer/Welding Engineer for its Oil & Gas client. The role focuses on subsea materials engineering, welding processes, and NDE proficiency, with experience in EPC/OEM environments and international standards.

You will interact with clients and suppliers, manage multiple projects, and contribute to technical governance and risk assessments. Fluent English required, with long-term collaboration and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Materials or Welding Engineering required.
• Significant subsea materials experience in EPC/OEM.
• Strong welding knowledge, qualifications, and NDE proficiency.
• NDE Level 3 certification is mandatory.
• IWE or equivalent considered an advantage.
• Experience with EPC systems and complex project delivery.
• Familiarity with DNV, ISO, API, ASME, NORSOK standards.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
• Fluent English communications with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Review client specifications, standards, codes, and environmental conditions.
• Prepare Material Selection Reports and Corrosion Protection Philosophies.
• Support design reviews, risk assessments, and technical queries.
• Evaluate and qualify suppliers and sub-vendors for capabilities and compliance.
• Review and approve fabrication documents, WPS/PQRs, ITPs, and NDE procedures.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing and fabrication activities.
• Investigate and resolve materials- and welding-related non-conformances.
• Contribute to lessons learned and governance processes.
• Support tendering and proposal activities with technical risk assessment.
