Citi is seeking a Lead Java Engineer in Poland to guide backend architecture, drive real-time analytics pipelines, and mentor a growing team. You will design scalable Java services, optimize SQL Server data schemas, and champion DevOps on OpenShift.

The role demands8+ years in backend engineering, strong Java/Spring expertise, and leadership experience within a finance-oriented tech environment. Hybrid work arrangement available.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience designing and deploying enterprise-grade backend systems.
• Strong Java (17+) with Spring ecosystem expertise.
• Proficiency with SQL Server and relational data modeling.
• Experience in Kafka/RabbitMQ and real-time data pipelines.
• Proven leadership, architectural decision-making, and mentorship.
• CI/CD practices, Git workflows, and container orchestration with OpenShift/Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and own end-to-end Java services within a scalable platform.
• Lead sub-teams, review code, and mentor junior engineers.
• Optimize high-throughput, low-latency applications and data models.
• Develop real-time data pipelines using Kafka and Pinot.
• Enhance DevOps pipelines and manage deployments on OpenShift.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements.
• Provide application support and resolve production issues.
