Job summary

SoftServe is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer for its European Commission engagement, delivering secure and scalable digital solutions across Angular frontend and Java/Spring Boot backend, in cloud and DevOps contexts.

You will collaborate with international teams to implement REST and SOAP APIs, Kafka messaging, and ensure security and compliance throughout the lifecycle, with opportunities to work on EU-funded initiatives.

Qualifications

• EQF Level 6 university degree with 17+ years of IT experience.
• 5+ years with Angular, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS; 3+ years with Java and Spring Boot.
• 3+ years designing and integrating REST and SOAP APIs with Kafka messaging.
• 3+ years with relational databases such as MySQL and Oracle; strong full-stack integration.
• 1+ year with Kubernetes or similar DevOps tech and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience developing secure cloud-based solutions with authentication and logging.
• Experience supporting EU Cohesion Policy and multilingual teams is a plus.
• English proficiency at B2+; strong communication in multicultural environments.
• Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure) are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Angular, Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, ensuring high performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Build responsive and user-friendly front-end experiences while developing robust backend services that support complex business processes and policy-driven applications
• Design, develop, and integrate REST and SOAP APIs, as well as Kafka-based messaging solutions, to enable reliable communication between enterprise systems
• Develop, optimize, and maintain database functionality using relational database technologies, including MySQL and Oracle, ensuring data integrity and performance
• Apply best practices for application security, authentication, authorization, logging, monitoring, and compliance throughout the software development lifecycle
• Perform unit and integration testing, troubleshooting, debugging, performance tuning, and continuous improvement of application quality and reliability
• Deploy and support applications in cloud and containerized environments, leveraging Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tools to streamline delivery processes
• Collaborate closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and international partners, while maintaining accurate technical documentation and contributing to architectural and solution design decisions

Requirements

• EQF Level 6 university degree (typically Bachelor’s level) with 17+ years of professional IT experience
• 5+ years of experience with Angular, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, and 3+ years of experience with Java and Spring Boot in enterprise application development
• 3+ years of experience designing and integrating REST and SOAP APIs, as well as working with Kafka-based messaging solutions
• 3+ years of experience with relational databases, including MySQL and/or Oracle, and strong knowledge of full-stack architecture and front-end/backend integration
• 1+ year of experience with Kubernetes or similar DevOps and infrastructure technologies, along with experience integrating applications into CI/CD pipelines
• Experience developing secure cloud-based solutions, applying authentication, authorization, monitoring, logging, and security best practices
• 3+ years of experience supporting EU Cohesion Policy and Structural Funds through digital solutions for EU-funded programmes
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher, strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively in multicultural, multilingual, and cross-functional environments
• Experience with automated testing, additional expertise in Angular, Java, Spring Boot, REST, SOAP, or Kafka, and AWS, Azure, or equivalent cloud certifications will be considered an advantage
