Job summary

HelloFresh in Warsaw, within HelloTech, is seeking a Product Engineer to lead backend initiatives across supply chain platforms. You will translate business needs into robust, scalable services, shape architecture, and mentor engineers.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across products, data, and operations to deliver reliable systems at scale. The role emphasizes event-driven design, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes), and observability.

Qualifications

• Experience leading backend engineering teams.
• Proficiency in Golang and JVM (Kotlin/Java).
• Design and operate scalable, event-driven systems.
• Knowledge of Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS.
• Cloud and container tech: AWS, Kubernetes.
• Strong collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
• Bias to ship with product-minded focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-squad technical initiatives for modular, scalable backend solutions.
• Bridge between engineering squads and stakeholders to architect long-term systems.
• Define engineering best practices across the Food Systems Alliance.
• Optimize data workflows and event-driven architectures.
• Provide architecture reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Shape the technical roadmap and identify bottlenecks.
• Take technical lead on backend product problems and operate services at scale.
