Job summary

HelloFresh in Warsaw is seeking a senior backend engineer to own the architecture, design, and operation of microservices within the HelloTech division. You will work in a DevOps-driven environment across cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable backend capabilities.

Responsibilities include building event-driven systems with Kafka/RabbitMQ, exposing data via REST and gRPC, and using Docker and Kubernetes in CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Senior backend engineer with Go or JVM stack and production experience.
• Experience building distributed, event-driven microservices.
• Strong testing and design methodologies (TDD/BDD/DDD).
• Excellent communication in international teams.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and operation of microservices under a DevOps model.
• Build event-driven systems using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS/SNS.
• Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Maintain robust test suites from unit to end-to-end tests.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, frontend, and data.
• Provide technical guidance and participate in code and architecture reviews.
• Leverage AI tools to increase productivity in engineering delivery.
