Job summary

Arista Networks in Poland seeks a Layer1 Software Engineer to develop software for the physical layer, ensuring stable and high-performance connectivity across 1GBASE-T to 400G interfaces. Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of C or C++ and Python.
• Knowledge of UNIX or Linux.
• Understanding of IP networking and/or distributed systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interface with customers, product management, and hardware engineers to develop Layer1 features.
• Architect and manage the development of Layer1 features from design to deployment.
• Develop and maintain features using C, C++, and Python; build automated tests and test infrastructure.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to bring Layer1 components (Phys/Transceivers) to market.
• Design optimal software control interfaces for Layer1 components in coordination with hardware engineers.
• Provide technical leadership across features, projects, and tools.
• Mentor new and junior engineers in Arista software development practices.
