Job summary

Fortum in Poland is seeking a Junior RTR Accountant to broaden professional competencies in a development-oriented unit with an international network.

You will participate in SAP implementation projects, support month-end close, post journals, and ensure accurate entries. The role emphasizes process improvements, collaboration, and continuous learning within a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• At least 1 year of RTR/GL experience or similar role.
• Knowledge of SAP is advantageous.
• Willingness to learn and absorb large volumes of information.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; English proficiency required.
• Team player with proactive problem-solving mindset.
• Good command of MS Office and ERP systems like Oracle or SAP.

Responsibilities

• Participate in SAP implementation projects and process migration.
• Support month end close processes under supervision.
• Post manual journals and record accounting entries per Fortum rules.
• Complete year-end closing processes and reports.
• Assist experienced team members with processes in scope.
• Coordinate with internal finance teams and clients.
• Ensure timely, complete, and accurate process delivery.
• Keep desktop procedures updated for changes and compliance.
• Attend meetings, trainings, and project initiatives.
• Develop skills toward becoming a champion in areas of expertise.
• Foster trust and transparency within RTR and with stakeholders.

As an Junior RTR Accountant you have possibility to broaden your professional competencies in the forward looking energy company. You will be working in a development oriented unit with quality mindset and international contacts. You will have a chance to take part in development initiatives, including process improvements and implementing best practices. About The Role

• Participation in SAP implementation projects, process migration, testing across business functions
• Effectively support month end close processes under supervision of senior colleagues and team leader
• Posting manual journals
• Record and review accounting entries according to Fortum requirements and procedures accurately and within deadlines
• Complete year-end closing processes and reports
• Support more experienced team members with all processes in scope
• Liaise with multiple internal finance teams and clients
• Ensure completeness and accuracy and timeliness process delivery
• Maintain desktop procedures up-to-date to ensure compliance with process changes, current legislation and company policy
• Participate actively in any meetings, trainings and projects initiatives
• Develop your professional skills and knowledge towards becoming a champion/expert in particular areas
• Build trust and understanding through communication, inclusion, and transparency within RTR team and with other internal stakeholders

About You

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree - preferably in Finance, Accounting or a related field
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in RTR/GL
• Knowledge of SAP would be an asset
• Ability to gain high volume of knowledge
• Analytical and communication skills

• Ability to work as part of a team, work well with others and promote positive working relationships across the organization
