Job summary

Tenarai Europe in Kraków is seeking a Java Developer to join our engineering team. You will build and expand scalable Java applications, focusing on performance and well‑crafted solutions for our aviation industry client.

You will work with Java 8+, Spring Framework, Hibernate, Camel, Tomcat, REST/SOAP, and databases (Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB). Strong testing (JUnit/Mockito) and CI/CD practices are expected, with hybrid work options available.

Qualifications

• : Extensive experience with Java 8+ and J2EE.
• Strong understanding of software architecture and design principles.
• Proficient in object‑oriented programming (OOP).
• Experience with RESTful and SOAP‑based services.
• Knowledge of Spring Framework 5 and Hibernate ORM.
• Hands‑on experience with Apache Camel and Tomcat.
• Git, CI/CD and version control workflows.
• Relational and NoSQL databases (Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Testing with JUnit 4+ and Mockito (TDD).
• System diagnostics, debugging and root cause analysis.
• Must possess a legal work permit in Poland.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve Java‑based applications using Java 8+ and J2EE.
• Design and implement software solutions following sound architecture and design principles.
• Develop and maintain integrations and services using REST and SOAP.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases, including Oracle, MySQL, and MongoDB.
• Develop and maintain automated tests following TDD practices, using JUnit 4+ and Mockito.
• Diagnose system issues, perform thorough root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
• Develop utilities and tools to automate data and result processing and analysis.
• Monitor and improve code quality and contribute to maintaining development standards and metrics.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines and version control using Git, including branching and merging practices.
• Collaborate closely with developers, architects, and technical leaders to solve technical challenges and deliver high‑quality solutions.
• Support the team in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
• Work independently on assigned tasks and take ownership of delivering solutions.
• Continuously learn and adopt new technologies, tools, and development practices.
• Work with cloud technologies, with AWS being preferred.

Join our engineering team delivering software solutions for our client. The primary goal of the project is building and expanding scalable systems and applications based on Java architecture. We are seeking ambitious engineers committed to high technical standards, performance, and delivering well-crafted solutions. Key qualities for the team include analytical capability, independence, and adaptability to new technologies — prior travel or aviation domain experience is not required.

• Strong professional experience with Java 8+ / Core Java / J2EE.
• Good understanding of software architecture and design principles.
• Strong object-oriented programming (OOP) skills.
• Experience with Spring Framework 5.
• Experience with Hibernate / ORM frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience with Apache Camel and Tomcat.
• Experience working with RESTful and SOAP‑based services.
• Good knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, particularly Oracle, MySQL, and MongoDB.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, branching, and merging in a team environment.
• Practical experience with Test‑Driven Development (TDD), JUnit 4+, and Mockito.
• Experience with system diagnostics, debugging, profiling, and root cause analysis.
• Knowledge of logging frameworks and experience troubleshooting application issues through logs.
• Understanding of code quality and software metrics.
• Experience working with AWS is a plus.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively with technical leaders, architects, and developers.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks.
