Job summary

The Codest in Kraków is seeking a Java backend developer to build and maintain Java-based services and REST APIs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions. You will participate in the full software development lifecycle, including CI/CD, automated tests, code reviews, and production support, with a strong focus on reliability, security, and code quality.

Qualifications

• Advanced English in speaking and writing.
• Strong commercial experience with Java (8+/11+/17+/21) and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience with REST APIs, microservices, and SQL databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Familiarity with React, MQ/Solace, Redis, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, Maven/Gradle, and DevOps tooling.
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Splunk, Prometheus, Jenkins, etc.).
• Understanding of application security and testing practices.
• Experience working in Agile / DevOps environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across distributed teams.

Project Description:

In this role, you’ll develop and maintain Java-based services and REST APIs, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, and contribute to system architecture with a strong focus on reliability, security, and code quality. You’ll also take part in the full software development lifecycle, including CI/CD processes, automated testing, code reviews, and production support.

Please note: this is a hybrid position, you will be expected to come into the office 6-8 days per month overall (the office is located in Kraków).

Key Requirements:
