Job summary

HERE Technologies, Kraków, is seeking a collaborative backend engineer to design and maintain scalable services powering data pipelines. You will contribute to orchestration, REST APIs, and microservices while ensuring reliability and performance in production environments.

You will work with Java, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes, collaborating across teams to deliver robust platform capabilities and continuously improve system design and testing practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Solid experience building backend services in Java.
• Experience designing REST APIs and microservices.
• Familiarity with distributed systems and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services supporting the Pipeline Management platform.
• Contribute to pipeline orchestration, scheduling, execution, and state management services.
• Build and enhance REST APIs and microservices supporting large-scale data processing workloads.
• Participate in technical design discussions and code reviews.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and platform teams to deliver reliable platform capabilities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while improving system reliability and performance.
• Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and operational tooling.
• Grow expertise in distributed systems, cloud technologies, and software engineering best practices.
