Job summary

HERE Technologies in Poland is seeking a Software Engineer II to design, develop, test, and maintain backend services for the Pipeline Management platform. You will work on orchestration, scheduling, and state management, building scalable data processing workloads and robust REST APIs.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in design reviews, and contribute to CI/CD and automated testing.

Qualifications

• Experience developing backend applications using Java.
• Knowledge of object-oriented design principles and software engineering best practices.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Understanding of microservices architectures and distributed systems concepts.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) or strong desire to learn cloud-native development.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience using source control systems and development tools such as Git, GitLab, Jenkins, and JIRA.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

What's the role?

The Pipeline Management team builds and operates the platform that powers large-scale batch and streaming data pipelines across HERE’s Data Platform. Our platform enables engineering teams and customers to build, deploy, and operate data pipelines at scale while meeting demanding requirements for reliability, performance, and operational excellence.

As a Software Engineer II, you will have the opportunity to:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services supporting the Pipeline Management platform.
• Contribute to pipeline orchestration, scheduling, execution, and state management services.
