Job summary

HERE Technologies in Poland is seeking a Software Engineer II to design, develop, test, and maintain backend services for the Pipeline Management platform. You will work on orchestration, scheduling, and state management, building scalable data processing workloads and robust REST APIs.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in design reviews, and contribute to CI/CD and automated testing.

Qualifications

• Experience developing backend applications using Java.
• Knowledge of object-oriented design principles and software engineering best practices.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Understanding of microservices architectures and distributed systems concepts.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) or strong desire to learn cloud-native development.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience using source control systems and development tools such as Git, GitLab, Jenkins, and JIRA.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services supporting the Pipeline Management platform.
• Contribute to pipeline orchestration, scheduling, execution, and state management services.
• Build and enhance REST APIs and microservices supporting large-scale data processing workloads.
• Participate in technical design discussions and code reviews.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and platform teams to deliver reliable platform capabilities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while continuously improving system reliability and performance.
• Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and operational tooling.
• Grow expertise in distributed systems, cloud technologies, and software engineering best practices.
