Job summary

Outokumpu Chrome Oy in Katowice is seeking an experienced IT professional to provide advanced (2nd/3rd level) support for Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), RDS and VDI services, and to manage golden image lifecycles.

You will own the AVD environments, optimize storage and user sessions, monitor service health, and drive automation and improvements, while collaborating with vendors and internal teams in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Experience in VDI/EUC operations with AVD and RDS/Citrix environments.
• Knowledge of golden image management and patching processes.
• Experience with IT service management and vendor collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced (2nd/3rd level) support for Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), RDS and VDI services, including escalation.
• Manage and troubleshoot AVD environments, host pools, session hosts, workspaces and published apps.
• Own the golden image lifecycle: building, patching, validating and deploying session host images.
• Manage FSLogix profiles, storage performance, user sessions and profile recovery.
• Monitor service health, perform root cause analysis and drive improvements.
• Support patching, security, change management and migrations from legacy platforms to Azure AVD.
• Standardise application delivery, maintain documentation and share knowledge with teams.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.

What you will do:

• Provide advanced (2nd/3rd level) support for Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), RDS and VDI services, including escalation support when needed.
• Manage and troubleshoot AVD environments, including host pools, session hosts, workspaces, application groups and published applications.
• Own the golden image lifecycle — building, patching, validating and deploying session host images.
• Manage FSLogix profiles, storage performance, user sessions and profile recovery.
• Monitor service health, performance and incidents, perform root cause analysis and drive improvements.
• Support patching, security activities, change management and migration from legacy VDI/RDS platforms to Azure AVD.
• Standardise application delivery, maintain technical documentation and share knowledge with support teams.
• Identify opportunities for automation, process improvements and better user experience.

What you bring:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in VDI/EUC operations with AVD and RDS/Citrix environments.
• Strong knowledge of Azure Virtual Desktop, including host pools, session hosts, application groups, scaling and troubleshooting.
• Experience with FSLogix profiles, Azure Files, storage solutions and Windows multi-session environments.
• Knowledge of golden image management, application packaging, patching and release processes.
• Experience with IT service management processes, change/problem management and vendor collaboration.
• Degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent professional experience.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Nice to have: Experience with Nerdio Manager and enterprise B2B environments.
