Job summary

Outokumpu Oyj is seeking an Azure Virtual Desktop Specialist to join the End User Services team. You will support AVD operations, manage host pools, workspaces, and application groups, and perform routine tasks using Nerdio Manager.

The role requires 2+ years in IT support, Windows administration, and strong English communication. Hybrid work with on-site days at the Katowice office, plus a comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent
• 2+ years in IT support, service desk, Windows admin, or End User Computing
• Knowledge of Azure Virtual Desktop components (host pools, session hosts, workspaces, app groups)
• Understanding of Azure VMs, networking, storage
• FSLogix profiles familiarity
• Basic PowerShell skills and troubleshooting ability
• Familiarity with ITSM processes and change management
• Strong English communication

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations of Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) including host pools, session hosts, workspaces, and published apps
• Perform standard ops tasks via Nerdio Manager (start/stop, resize, reimage, maintenance)
• Assist with golden image updates, patching, validation, and session-host refresh
• Monitor platform health, performance, scaling, and alerts; resolve or escalate issues
• Troubleshoot user sessions, connectivity, RDP/SSO, FSLogix profiles, performance
• Maintain ITSM tickets, CMDB records, runbooks, and knowledge articles
• Follow ITIL security standards and change management procedures
• Collaborate with Service Desk, Architects, Cyber Security, App Owners, and partners to improve service quality and automation
• Provide 3rd level End User Services support, including on-call rotation

What you'll do

• Support the day-to-day operations of Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), including host pools, session hosts, workspaces, and published applications
• Perform standard operational tasks such as start/stop, resizing, reimaging, and maintenance using Nerdio Manager
• Assist with golden image updates, patching, validation, and session host refresh activities
• Monitor platform health, performance, scaling, and alerts, resolving or escalating issues where needed
• Troubleshoot user sessions, connectivity, RDP/SSO, FSLogix profiles, and performance issues
• Maintain accurate ITSM tickets, CMDB records, runbooks, and knowledge articles
• Follow ITIL processes, security standards, and change management procedures
• Collaborate with Service Desk, Architects, Service Managers, Cyber Security, Application Owners, and external partners to improve service quality and automation
• Provide 3rd level support for End User Services, including participation in an on-call rotation

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
• 2+ years of experience in IT support, service desk, Windows administration, or End User Computing
• Knowledge of Azure Virtual Desktop, including host pools, session hosts, workspaces, and application groups
• Understanding of Azure virtual machines, networking, and storage
• Familiarity with Windows 10/11 multi-session environments and FSLogix profiles
• Experience with Nerdio Manager is an advantage
• Basic PowerShell skills and strong analytical troubleshooting abilities
• Understanding of ITSM processes, documentation, and change management
• Strong communication skills and fluent English
