Currently a part of Boeing working with digital aviation has been sold to Thoma Bravo, private equity investing company focused on software investments. Digital aviation solutions included Jeppesen and Foreflight companies being currently merged. The quality of Jeppesen data fuses with Foreflight software solutions to create a top software company in the digital aviation world.

About the role

As an iOS developer at Foreflight / Jeppesen Foreflight, you will join the teams working with the EFB iOS applications. The team is responsible for the business aviation segment, and they work on building new features as well as maintaining legacy code. Your tech stack will include swift, xcode and objective-c. EFB apps provide pilots from all over the world the capabilities that help plan their flights with all the information they need.

Typical tasks and responsibilities

• Software development of the EFB app
• Maintenance and optimization of existing features
• Collaboration with colleagues from other departments
• Owning
• Proactively working with test engineers to ensure safety in the air

In order to succeed in this role

• Educational background within the software field, e.g. software engineering, data, computer science
• Experience with developing apps for iOS (swift & xcode)
• Experience with maintaining legacy code (objective-c)
• A drive to make things happen and being the co-owner of the solution, you develop
• Used to working with others globally (communicative English = being able to collaborate and demo your work to global stakeholders) and see the value in sparring and information sharing
• You always try to understand the problems’ you solve and overall “why” context
• If you ever were passionate about aviation – you got some bonus points straightaway!
