Job summary

Jeppesen ForeFlight is seeking an iOS Engineer to join the engineering team in Gdansk or remotely from anywhere in Poland. You will contribute to a mature, data-driven iOS product used for flight planning, navigation and aviation operations.

You will work in a technical environment with colleagues across disciplines, focusing on responsible ownership of features and progressive technical growth.

On behalf of Jeppesen, Moment is looking for an iOS Engineer to join their engineering organisation in Gdansk or remote from elsewhere in Poland

Develop software that pilots rely on

Jeppesen ForeFlight develops digital solutions for flight planning, navigation and aviation operations.

As an iOS Engineer, you will contribute to the continued development of their iOS application. You will work with a mature and technically complex product that combines large amounts of data, demanding calculations and an intuitive user experience.

The position is suited to an engineer who already has experience with professional iOS development and is motivated to deepen their technical skills while taking increasing ownership of features and solutions.

Your responsibilities

• Develop and maintain iOS functionality in Swift, from implementation and testing through to release.
• Work across different parts of the application, including user-facing features, application logic and existing technical components.
• Investigate and solve technical challenges related to application performance, concurrency, memory usage and data handling.
• Write maintainable, well-structured code and contribute actively to code reviews.
• Participate in technical and architectural discussions together with more experienced engineers.
• Take ownership of features and tasks while seeking input from colleagues when needed.

You will collaborate closely with other engineers, product specialists and aviation-domain experts to transform complex requirements into reliable and intuitive functionality.

iOS experience and a desire to grow

• You have professional experience developing iOS applications and a good understanding of the Apple development ecosystem.
• You are proficient in Swift and familiar with modern iOS development practices. You have experience working with asynchronous code and understand the fundamentals of concurrency, memory management and application performance.
• You are comfortable working in an existing codebase and are able to understand unfamiliar parts of a system, make changes safely and gradually improve the quality of the software.
• You have a good understanding of common data structures and software engineering principles and are interested in developing a deeper understanding of how technical choices affect performance, maintainability and scalability.
• Experience with C++ or other languages used in large software systems is an advantage, but not a requirement.
• You communicate professionally in English and are comfortable working with colleagues across different technical disciplines.
