The role reports to the Manager in Poland and requires hybrid work in Katowice. Strong knowledge of IEC standards, project leadership, and mechanical design is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Proficiency with IEC standards and testing methodologies.
• Experience leading mechanical design projects and teams.
• Knowledge of switchgear components and electrical devices.

Responsibilities

• Lead testing program planning, execution, and evaluation for Low Voltage Switchgear.
• Ensure IEC standard compliance for verification and validation activities.
• Review and maintain testing procedures and protocols.
• Provide guidance for type testing, design verification, and product qualification.
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for failures.
• Support certification activities with external labs and customers.
• Review and approve technical test reports.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of testing documentation.
• Provide technical sign-off for critical tests and validation results

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer IV to lead and support testing, validation, and compliance activities for Low Voltage Switchgear products. You will be in an important technical position within our engineering organization, responsible for ensuring that product testing methodologies, test execution, and certification activities comply with applicable IEC standards and customer requirements.

You will be the subject matter expert for IEC verification testing, provide technical leadership to laboratory personnel, and improve of testing processes. Also, the role will be the Product Owner for the Testing Team, helping define priorities, manage partners expectations, and align laboratory activities with our goals.

You will report to the Manager located in Poland and have a hybrid schedule working in Katowice, Poland.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of Low Voltage Switchgear testing programs.
• Ensure compliance with applicable IEC standards, including verification and validation methodologies.
• Review, approve, and maintain testing procedures, protocols, and methodologies.
• Provide technical guidance for type testing, design verification, and product qualification activities.
• Lead cause investigations and corrective actions related to test failures and compliance issues.
• Support certification and regulatory activities involving external laboratories, certification bodies, and customers.
• Review, validate, and approve technical test reports.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of all testing documentation.
• Provide technical sign-off for critical testing activities and design validation results

The Essentials - You Will Have

• Very knowledge of technical drawing.
• Very good IEC standard knowledge
• Experience with the guidance of tests according to the IEC standard
• Knowledge of electrical components such as circuit breakers, contactors, overloads, drives, and their parameters
• Experience in independently implementing the project and supervising the project team
• Experience running core meetings
• Knowledge of 3D design programs (knowledge of Creo is welcome (derivatives: NX, Inventor, Solid Edge, Solid Works, AutoCad 3D)).
• A bachelor's degree in the mechanical engineering discipline or equivalent education/professional development
• English (B2)

The Preferred - You Might Also Have

• Minimum of 5 years of mechanical engineering/design experience
• Minimum 2 years of switchgear experience
• 1kV SEP qualifications are welcome
