Job Description

Rockwell Automation is looking for a Project Hardware Development Engineer with digital electronics design experience to join our Control Logix Engineering team. You will join a team developing advanced automation control systems. You\'ll contribute to all stages of new hardware product development, from sub-circuit design and integration to functional analysis of the product. This includes its regulatory compliance. While doing so, you\'ll build necessary technical skills across the team in a supportive environment. If you value knowledge sharing, teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.

You provide technical leadership for a medium-sized engineering team, pioneer new technologies, shape the direction of hardware plans, and mentor other engineers as the team grows. With success in this role, you will learn all of the stages in the development cycle. You will work in a Scrum team, where your primary collaboration within the project will be with the Engineering Sponsor.

You will report directly to the Hardware Manager and have a hybrid schedule working in Katowice, Poland.

  • Lead technical work in your specialization - processor subsystems (CPU, memory, power) or networking subsystems (switching, PHYs, high-speed links).
  • Improve engineering workflows by introducing better tools, simulations, and failure-analysis methods.
  • Build relationships across teams with firmware, test, and manufacturing engineers to deepen understanding of the product development lifecycle.

  • Capability to independently review and troubleshoot hardware designs, interpret test data, and make well-founded technical decisions that balance performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • English at B2 level or higher.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have
  • Understanding of schematics, circuit theory, digital logic, power conversion, and programmable devices (CPLDs/FPGAs).
  • Practical programming skills in Python or C++ for automation and hardware test workflows.
  • Hands-on use of lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debuggers.
  • Knowledge of industrial control systems, PLCs, functional safety, or EMC requirements.
