Job summary

Hitachi Energy's Europe Communications & Government Relations internship offers hands-on exposure to procurement, supplier management, budget oversight, and event-related activities within a global corporate setting.

You will learn SAP S/4HANA and other IT tools while supporting budgets, invoices, and vendor contracts across a dynamic European scope.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Communications, International Relations or a related field, graduating in 2027 or later.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Comfortable working with numbers and financial data.
• Fluent English; additional European languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create and track purchase orders, ensuring data and documents are complete and up to date.
• Follow up with suppliers and internal teams to ensure invoices and payments stay on schedule.
• Support supplier onboarding and management of vendor contracts and related documents.
• Assist with budget tracking, forecasting, reports, and monthly budget reviews.
• Support administrative processing and timely payments for conferences, events, memberships, sponsor-ships, public affairs programs, media relations agencies and consultancies.
• Maintain process documentation and support rollout of new processes; suggest simpler ways of working.
• Learn to use SAP S/4HANA software and other IT tools.

The role is critical in ensuring that external engagements, including events, agency contracts, memberships, media relations activities, advocacy projects, sponsorships, and consultancy support can be processed efficiently and in compliance with Hitachi Energy policies and procedures.
