Job summary

Philip Morris International in Kraków offers an internship for MDC Engineers to support organizing physical prototyping tests, preparing virtual models, and running simulations. You will analyze data, leverage Excel, and work with engineering processes in a dynamic, international setting.

You will contribute to digital tooling, AI applications in modelling, and end-to-end process improvement, while balancing studies with flexible hours and company perks.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate (3rd–5th year) or graduate within 12 months of graduation.
• Experience in a similar area through student organizations or internships.
• Interest in data analysis, physics, and engineering/process understanding.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
• Available at least 30 hours per week.
• Fluent in Polish and English (at least B2).
• Familiar with process/product modeling and simulation software and 3D CAD software (nice to have).

Responsibilities

• Support MDC Engineers in organizing and conducting physical prototyping tests of new products and materials (including material characterization).
• Prepare virtual models of products, processes and relevant simulations (Ansys will be an advantage).
• Find applications of digital tools (photogrammetry, sensors, 3D scanning) in product modelling and simulation.
• Develop Artificial Intelligence applications in modelling and simulation.
• Work on global projects in international work environment.
• Value stream mapping (VSM) of MDC process and its continuous improvement.
• Continuous development of end-to-end process management tool and its automation (Excel and VBA).

Who Are We Looking For

• You are an undergraduate (3rd, 4th, 5th year) or graduate up to 12 months after graduation (preferred majors: Mechanical Engineering, Automation and Robotics, Manufacturing Engineering, Material Science or other technical majors


• You have experience in a similar area through activities in student organizations or previous internships


• You like to analyze and interpret data, you know physics, have engineering and process understanding


• You have advanced knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel


• Your availability per week is minimum 30 hours


• You communicate fluently in Polish and English (at least B2 level, written and spoken)


• You are familiar and experienced with process/product modeling and simulation software and 3D CAD software (e.g. Ansys Discovery, LS-Dyna, Mechanical or other from Ansys family, SolidWorks) -nice to have

What We Offer You

• Contract of mandate for 6 months (possibility to extend the cooperation up to 12 months)


• Salary depending on the hours worked, with a rate of no less than PLN 34 per hour gross
