William Hill in Kraków is seeking a Senior Software Developer to build and maintain data platforms powering real-time betting and gaming experiences. You will contribute to our central data warehouse and cloud data platforms using SQL Server, AWS, Snowflake and Apache Airflow.

You will work with local and international colleagues to deliver reliable data solutions, support critical systems and help evolve modern cloud-based data platforms while mentoring engineers and sharing best practices.

Qualifications

• Significant experience developing and supporting enterprise data warehouse solutions using Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL and SSIS.
• Expertise in SQL performance optimisation, ETL development, data modelling and troubleshooting production data environments.
• Experience with software engineering best practices including testing, code reviews, version control and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of complex data warehouse enhancements from requirements analysis through deployment and post-release validation.
• Design, develop and maintain T-SQL code, data integrations and ETL processes.
• Support and optimise production data systems, investigating incidents and implementing long-term improvements.
• Participate in an on-call rota, taking ownership of troubleshooting, recovery activities and stakeholder communication.
• Monitor and enhance data processing, operational procedures and platform performance.
• Assess technical risks, plan deployments and ensure changes can be released safely and efficiently.
• Review technical designs and mentor other engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices.
