Job summary

Zebra Technologies in Gliwice, Poland, is seeking a Software QA Engineer (Level 1) to join our smart camera engineering team on a hybrid, full-time basis. You will test both software and hardware, and help build test automation for embedded Linux environments on real devices.

The role emphasizes exploratory testing, AI-assisted test ideas, and collaboration with firmware and software developers to reproduce bugs and verify fixes. Hybrid work and relocation-friendly culture supported.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical mindset with curiosity to find out 'how things break'.
• Comfort navigating embedded Linux systems via the command line and basic familiarity with systemd.
• Basic programming in Python and Bash for automating tasks or parsing files.
• Proactive problem-solving and debugging skills.

Responsibilities

• System Testing: Execute functional, regression, and system-level tests on hardware and embedded Linux platforms.
• Test Automation: Write and maintain test helper scripts to automate test execution and parse system logs.
• Log & System Analysis: Analyze logs and hardware outputs to isolate issues and document reproducible bugs.
• AI-Assisted Testing: Use AI tools to brainstorm test scenarios and accelerate test development.
• Collaborative Debugging: Work with firmware and software teams to reproduce bugs and verify fixes.
