Job summary

BlackLine in Kraków seeks an Associate Software Engineer to join the development team. You will contribute to design, development, and maintenance of the finance automation platform, working hybrid from Kraków and collaborating with engineers and product managers across time zones.

You will gain hands-on experience across the full software lifecycle, write clean code, review peers, and learn new technologies while improving existing applications in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
• Proficiency with C#/.NET, Python, and at least one other modern language (Java/JavaScript).
• Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
• Experience with REST APIs, web technologies (HTML/CSS/JS), Git, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Demonstrated learning mindset and ability to work across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle including requirements, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented code following coding standards.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and product managers to understand project requirements.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects.
• Develop and execute unit/integration/system tests to ensure quality.
• Contribute to code reviews and provide feedback.
• Learn new technologies and apply best practices as needed.
• Assist in maintaining and improving existing software applications.
