Job summary

METLEN Energy & Metals, a global leader in energy and metals, seeks a Head of Development for the M Renewables team in Warsaw, Poland. This executive will oversee renewable energy project development from concept to commissioning, manage pipelines, secure permits and lead cross‑functional teams to expand the RES portfolio.

Requirements: a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science and Business Management or related fields; 10+ years in renewable project development; 5+

• Experience in renewable energy project development for large-scale assets.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with Engineering, Construction and Legal teams.
• Proven track record in permits, land leases, and RTB milestones.

Responsibilities

We are seeking aHead of Development to join our M Renewables team in Warsaw, Poland.

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the development of renewable energy projects, primarily solar, from initial concept to successful commissioning. Key responsibilities include managing project pipelines, securing permits, negotiating land leases, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading cross‑functional teams. The Head of Development will play a crucial role in expanding the company’s renewable energy portfolio and driving strategic growth in the RES sector.

Your role will encompass:

• Develop and implement strategic plans for renewable energy project development
• Develop and lead the development team
• Identify and evaluate new business opportunities in the renewable energy sector
• Supervise and monitor the existing pipeline of renewable projects to achieve RTB status
• Participate in M&A transactions both on sales and acquisitions of projects
• Interact with the Engineering, Construction and Legal departments to complete the project development tasks
• Review planning documentation in respect of new projects as part of the due diligence and co‑ordinate with planning consultants to discharge planning conditions and submit variations, where necessary
• Assist the grid team with planning and land related issues in respect of grid connections assets
• Prepare regular reports for internal and external stakeholders

What you bring to the role:

• Bachelor’s or Master'sdegree in Engineering, Environmental Science and Business Management or related fields
• 10+ years working experience in the development of renewable energy projects
• 5+ years working experience in similar position
• Strong Leadership skills, critical thinking and time management
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Polish and English language is required
• Ability to travel as needed for project development and stakeholders meetings
