Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience as a Chief Accountant or similar role.
• Experience in a manufacturing, industrial or trading company.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
• Strong knowledge of Polish accounting regulations, VAT including ICR/ICA and CIT.
• Hands-on experience in accounting for international trade transactions.
• Experience working with ERP or accounting software.
• Advanced Excel for analysis and reporting.
• Very good command of English, both spoken and written.
• High level of ownership, accuracy and accountability.
• Ability to work independently and communicate with sales, logistics and finance.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of accounting and tax area compliant with Polish regulations.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports.
• Handle accounting for international trading transactions.
• Handle accounting for international trading transactions (imports, intra-Community acquisitions, exports).
• Account for rebates, transport costs, customs duties and related charges.
• Supervise receivables/payables and assist stock takes.
• Coordinate with Trade Finance to align accounting with cash flow reporting.
• Oversee document flow and archiving of invoices and bank statements.
• Collaborate with auditors, tax advisors and authorities.
• Develop and update chart of accounts and policies.

We are looking for an experienced Head of Accounting / Chief Accountant who will take full ownership of the accounting and tax area for a trading hub focused on the distribution of low voltage cables and electrotechnical products.

YOU WILL

Take full ownership of the company’s accounting and tax area in line with the Polish Accounting Act, VAT and CIT regulations

Maintain full statutory books and ensure accurate, compliant financial records

Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, as well as management reports for shareholders and financing institutions

Handle accounting for international trading transactions, including imports, intra-Community acquisitions and supplies, exports and factoring-related operations

Account for rebates, credit notes, transport costs, customs duties and other transaction-related charges

Supervise trade receivables and payables, reconcile balances and support stock takes of receivables and liabilities

Work closely with the Trade Finance Officer to ensure consistency between accounting data, working capital financing and cash flow reporting

Oversee document flow and proper archiving of invoices, warehouse documents, customs documents and bank statements

Cooperate with auditors, tax advisors and tax authorities during audits and inspections

Develop and update the chart of accounts and accounting policies tailored to the company’s trading operations

YOU NEED

University degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics

At least 3–5 years of experience as a Chief Accountant, Senior Accountant or Independent Accountant

Experience gained in a manufacturing, industrial or trading company, ideally within cables, electrotechnical products, metal processing or heavy industry

Very good knowledge of Polish accounting regulations, VAT including ICR/ICA and export transactions, as well as CIT

Hands‑on experience in accounting for international trade transactions

Experience working with ERP or commercial accounting systems

Advanced Excel skills for analysis and reporting

Very good command of English, both spoken and written

High level of ownership, accuracy and accountability

Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with business functions such as sales, logistics and finance
