Job summary

Zazu Digital Talent seeks a Group Chief Accountant in Warsaw to lead the accounting function in a hands-on, leadership role within an international reporting environment. You will own financial reporting, controls, and tax compliance, guiding the team through month-end and year-end close while coordinating with external auditors.

The role requires deep Polish accounting knowledge, experience with consolidation, manufacturing cost accounting, and fluent Polish and English.

We are supporting an international business with manufacturing operations in the appointment of a Group Chief Accountant based in Warsaw.

This is a hands‑on leadership opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys combining technical accounting expertise with responsibility for a team and an international reporting environment.

The role

You will take ownership of the accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust controls and compliance with relevant accounting and tax requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing the accounting team in Warsaw.
• Overseeing Polish statutory accounting, financial statements and tax compliance.
• Preparing consolidated financial statements for the group, including intercompany reconciliations and eliminations.
• Managing month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Ensuring accurate inventory valuation and manufacturing cost accounting.
• Coordinating external audits and working with international stakeholders.
• Improving accounting processes, internal controls and financial systems.

What we're looking for

• Significant experience in accounting, including several years in a Chief Accountant, Head of Accounting or comparable leadership position.
• Strong practical knowledge of Polish accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Hands‑on experience preparing consolidated group financial statements.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, including inventory and production‑related accounting.
• Experience managing and developing accounting teams.
• Familiarity with international reporting standards.
• Professional fluency in Polish and English.
• A practical, detail‑oriented approach and the confidence to take ownership of complex accounting matters.
