Job summary

HRK S.A. seeks an experienced General Ledger Manager to lead Polish accounting, manage a finance team, and develop processes within a newly developing Shared Services structure in Poland.

You will own the General Ledger for Polish entities, coordinate closings, and ensure compliance with Polish regulations, tax accounting, and reporting standards while collaborating with international teams.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in General Ledger and Polish statutory accounting.
• Experience leading an accounting team or managing a finance function.
• Strong understanding of Polish accounting principles and local reporting requirements.
• Practical exposure to month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Experience in an international organization, SSC or Shared Services environment would be highly valued.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Very good command of English.
• Experience with SAP ECC or S/4HANA would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Own the General Ledger area for Polish entities.

Job description

We are currently looking for an experienced General Ledger Manager with strong knowledge of Polish accounting to join a newly developing Shared Services structure in Poland.

The role combines responsibility for the General Ledger area, leadership of the accounting team and active participation in the further development of finance processes for Polish entities within an international organization.

Key responsibilities:

• Taking ownership of the General Ledger area for Polish entities
• Leading and developing the accounting team and supporting day-to-day team effectiveness
• Coordinating financial closing activities and ensuring timely delivery of accounting results
• Maintaining high quality and accuracy of financial records
• Ensuring compliance with Polish accounting regulations and group reporting standards
• Supporting statutory reporting and cooperation with auditors
• Overseeing accounting topics related to local taxes, including VAT and CIT
• Improving and standardizing accounting processes within the Shared Services environment
• Supporting finance transition, migration and transformation initiatives
• Working closely with local finance stakeholders and international teams
• Participating in process automation and system improvement projects
• Supporting the development of SAP-based accounting processes

What we are looking for:

• Solid experience in General Ledger and Polish statutory accounting
• Previous experience in leading an accounting team or managing a finance function
• Strong understanding of Polish accounting principles and local reporting requirements
• Practical exposure to month-end and year-end closing processes
• Good understanding of tax-related accounting topics relevant to Polish entities
• Experience gained within an international organization, SSC or Shared Services environment
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of the accounting area
• Experience in process improvement, standardization or finance transformation would be highly valued
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills
• Very good command of English
• Experience with SAP, particularly SAP ECC or S/4HANA, would be an advantage
