Job summary

WSI, a global leader in automated repairs for pressure equipment, seeks a Chief Accountant to lead the Polish accounting team from Radom. You will ensure tax and statutory compliance, maintain records, and drive internal controls across all monthly close activities.

The role requires 5–7 years of relevant experience, strong knowledge of Polish regulations, and proficiency with Oracle and Excel. A Master’s degree and English skills are essential in this international environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience in Poland, including senior role.
• Experience in managing and developing an accounting team.
• Strong knowledge of Polish Accounting Act and Polish tax regulations (VAT, CIT, withholding tax, JPK, e-Sprawozdania).
• Experience working with Polish Tax Office, ZUS and auditors.
• Fluent Polish and good English.
• Experience in international corporate environment.
• Proficiency with Oracle and Excel.
• Accounting qualification such as SKwP, ACCA or CIMA is a plus.
• Ability to commute to Radom and work full-time from office.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the local accounting team with clear duty allocation and strong internal controls.
• Ensure timely compliance with Polish VAT, CIT, withholding tax, JPK and ZUS reporting.
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of accounting records, COA and policies.
• Coordinate month-end closing with Finance Manager and Finance Director.
• Prepare annual statutory financial statements via e-Sprawozdania.
• Lead annual statutory audits and liaise with auditors, Tax Office and ZUS.
• Reconcile intercompany balances monthly.
• Review supplier payment batches in Oracle.
• Oversee receivables aging and reporting to stakeholders.
• Monitor provisions, fixed assets and workshop profitability.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Your responsibilities?

• Lead, support and develop the local accounting team, ensuring appropriate allocation of duties and effective internal controls.
• Ensure timely compliance with Polish statutory and tax obligations, including VAT, CIT, withholding tax, JPK and reporting to ZUS.
• Take formal responsibility for the accuracy, completeness and legal compliance of the company’s accounting records, chart of accounts and accounting policies.
• Coordinate the month-end closing process together with the Finance Manager and Finance Director.
• Prepare annual statutory financial statements and submit them through the e-Sprawozdania system.
• Lead the annual statutory audit and act as the main contact for auditors, the Tax Office and ZUS.
• Reconcile intercompany balances on a monthly basis.
• Review and approve supplier payment batches prepared in Oracle.
• Oversee receivables management and ensure that ageing reports are reviewed and shared with relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor provisions, fixed assets and the profitability of workshop activities.
• Perform other duties related to the position as required

Our expectations:

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• At least 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience in Poland, including experience in a senior accounting role.
• Experience in managing and developing an accounting team.
• Strong and up-to-date knowledge of the Polish Accounting Act and Polish tax regulations, including VAT, CIT, withholding tax, JPK and e-Sprawozdania.
• Experience working directly with the Polish Tax Office, ZUS and statutory auditors.
• Fluent Polish and a good command of written and spoken English.
• Experience working in an international corporate environment.
• Practical knowledge of Oracle and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• A recognised accounting qualification, such as SKwP, ACCA or CIMA, would be an advantage.
• Ability to commute to Radom and work full-time from the office.
