Job summary

Sii Poland in Katowice is seeking a Technical Lead for data science who can drive end-to-end projects from problem framing to delivery. You’ll remain hands-on with Python while setting standards, mentoring the team, and making technical calls across platforms like Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, and Snowflake.

You will translate client problems into scoped work streams, review modeling approaches, and ensure production-ready solutions while communicating with clients and stakeholders in English

Qualifications

• Six+ years in data science with production‑level models shipped.
• Two+ years of leading or mentoring data scientists.
• Hands-on Python across the standard data stack and model review.
• Strong statistical design and validation methods.
• Experience with cloud/data platforms such as Azure, AWS, GCP, Snowflake or Databricks.
• Excellent communication; ability to defend methods to technical and business audiences.
• Fluent in English and Polish; based in Poland.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction of data science engagements: solution design, modeling approach, validation strategy, and delivery quality.
• Lead and mentor a team of data scientists: code reviews, methodology reviews, career development.
• Stay hands-on: prototype approaches and produce production‑grade Python where it matters.
• Translate client problems into scoped, estimable data science workstreams.
• Set and enforce engineering standards: reproducibility, experiment tracking, testing, documentation.
• Guide platform decisions across cloud/data ecosystems: Fabric, Foundry, Databricks, Snowflake, Azure/AWS/GCP.
• Collaborate with AI architects and clients to align technical decisions with business outcomes.
• Represent the team in front of clients: present results and manage expectations.
