Job summary

Square One Resources is seeking a Technical Lead for Power BI & dbt to join a highly technical BI team. This hands-on role blends BI development with technical leadership, code reviews, mentoring, and process improvement.

You will help centralize shared logic in Snowflake/dbt while keeping Power BI as the semantic layer. The ideal candidate combines deep Power BI and data development expertise with the ability to influence technical decisions and guide other developers, without traditional

Qualifications

Strong hands-on Power BI development including DAX and semantic models.
Excellent SQL and dbt skills with production-grade BI solutions.
Experience delivering scalable BI architectures across Snowflake and data lake environments.
Knowledge of BI security, deployment practices, and access management.
Ability to design well-structured semantic models and reporting solutions.
Experience with data pipelines and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow).

Responsibilities

Design and develop Power BI semantic models, reports, and dashboards.
Build data models in dbt and Snowflake implementing business logic in the data layer.
Deliver end-to-end BI solutions from data layer to BI products.
Optimize data models and SQL queries for performance.
Troubleshoot complex technical and production issues.
Mentor developers and share knowledge across the team.
Review code and architectural decisions, promote best practices.
Automate repetitive development activities and deployments.
