Job summary

Talanto in Warsaw is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer / Data Engineering Lead to own the Data Engineering domain within a BI-focused team. This is a hands-on role with strong SQL, Python, and data modelling skills, collaborating closely with Power BI Developers and Architects.

You will design, develop and optimize data pipelines, build analytical data models, and guide best practices while remaining hands-on. The role is hybrid with two days in the Warsaw office and the rest remote.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL and data modelling experience.
• Hands-on Python and data engineering skills.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory and/or Apache Airflow.

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of the Data Engineering area within a BI-focused team.
• Design and develop data pipelines and transformations.
• Build and optimize analytical data models.
• Develop complex SQL-based data transformations.
• Work with Python or comparable Data Engineering technologies.
• Develop and support pipelines using Azure Data Factory and/or Apache Airflow.
• Identify gaps, risks, bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
• Troubleshoot data issues end-to-end from source systems to reporting.
• Provide technical guidance to BI Developers and team members.
• Collaborate with Power BI Developers, Architects and stakeholders.
• Ensure data layer provides reliable and scalable foundations.
