Job summary

Page Executive is seeking a Group Chief Accountant to lead the accounting function across Poland and selected international markets. The role combines strategic oversight with hands-on management of GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, and financial reporting.

You will drive monthly, quarterly and annual closes, ensure compliance with Polish regulations and IFRS, collaborate with external auditors, and build a standardized, high-performance accounting team within a dynamic energy/real estate/infrastructure

Qualifications

• 10+ years of accounting experience or senior accounting roles.
• Experience as Chief Accountant, Group Chief Accountant, Head of Accounting or similar.
• Proven experience managing accounting for a group structure with multiple entities.
• Strong knowledge of Polish accounting regulations, IFRS, and tax matters.
• Hands-on experience in preparing standalone and consolidated financial statements.
• Experience working in an international environment.
• Experience with Shared Service Centers/SSC or BPO structures is a plus.

About Our Client

For our client, an international group operating across the energy, real estate, and infrastructure sectors, we are seeking an experienced professional for the position of Group Chief Accountant.
This is a newly created role within the Group's structure, established to support the organization's continued growth and expansion. We are looking for a hands-on leader with strong operational expertise who will oversee the accounting function at Group level while actively participating in key accounting, tax, and reporting processes.

Job Description

• Manage the full accounting function for a group of companies in Poland and selected international markets,
• Oversee General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), fixed assets, taxation, payments, and financial reporting processes,
• Take responsibility for the preparation of standalone and consolidated financial statements,
• Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes,
• Ensure compliance with Polish accounting regulations, tax requirements, and IFRS standards,
• Provide hands-on support to the team in areas requiring specialist accounting and tax expertise,
• Cooperate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other external stakeholders,
• Lead the development and standardization of accounting processes across the Group,
• Collaborate closely with Finance, Treasury, Tax, and Controlling teams,
• Manage and develop the accounting team, supporting the continuous enhancement of organizational capabilities.

The Successful Applicant

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting,
• Previous experience as a Chief Accountant, Group Chief Accountant, Head of Accounting, or in a similar senior accounting role,
• Proven experience managing accounting for a group structure comprising multiple legal entities,
• Strong knowledge of Polish accounting regulations, IFRS, and tax matters,
• Hands-on experience in preparing standalone and consolidated financial statements,
• Experience working in an international environment,
• Experience working with Shared Service Centers or within SSC/BPO structures will be considered a strong advantage,
• Ability to combine a strategic management perspective with active operational involvement,
• Strong leadership skills and excellent organizational abilities,
• Very good command of English, both written and spoken.
