Job summary

UPM - The Biofore Company in Poland is seeking a Trade Compliance Manager to lead the Trade Compliance function across EMEIA. You will shape governance, drive process improvements, and partner with global and regional teams to enable compliant growth.

You will manage customs, export controls, and regulatory changes while developing the Poland team and collaborating with internal stakeholders to translate complex rules into practical business solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Trade Compliance, International Trade, Customs or logistics.
• Minimum 3 years of practical experience in customs matters.
• Certification in customs legislation from a recognised authority.
• 5+ years of experience leading and developing teams.
• Strong knowledge of customs and international trade regulations, including import/export requirements, tariff classification, origin management and trade documentation.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical business solutions.
• Fluency in English and Polish; additional languages are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead Customs Clearance and Export teams in Poland.
• Develop team capabilities, including succession planning and deputy coverage.
• Own and improve Trade Compliance governance, processes and controls across EMEIA.
• Ensure compliance with customs, export control and international trade regulations across the region.
• Identify and mitigate risks; drive corrective actions.
• Lead customs audits and interactions with authorities; ensure follow-up.
• Drive simplification, standardization and digitalization of processes and master data.
• Build awareness and capabilities through training and knowledge sharing.
• Act as trusted business partner translating regulatory requirements into practical solutions.
