Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking an International Tax Senior Professional to advise across many jurisdictions and support global business operations. You will coordinate tax advice, assess cross-border activities, and mitigate tax risks while working with stakeholders, project teams, and global tax colleagues.

The role involves preparing tax guidance on international tax matters, permanent establishment, VAT, and transfer pricing, with a focus on timely, consistent delivery of advisory services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Tax, Law, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in international taxation, either in industry, a consulting firm, or a tax authority.
• Understanding of international tax principles, tax treaties, and the OECD Model Convention.
• Understanding of permanent establishment concepts and related tax risks.
• Basic knowledge of VAT and transfer pricing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business teams in different business units and jurisdictions to gather relevant information and understand business activities.
• Analyze tax legislation in various jurisdictions and assess its impact on business operations and transactions.
• Communicate with tax colleagues around the world to obtain local tax input and coordinate tax advice.
• Initiate and manage tax consultancy assignments with external advisors where appropriate.
• Prepare and review tax advice covering international tax, permanent establishment, withholding tax, VAT, and other tax matters.
• Identify tax risks and recommend practical mitigation measures.
• Provide clear and practical tax guidance and recommendations to business stakeholders.
• Support urgent business requests and provide back-up coverage during employee absences or periods of high workload.
• Assist in standardizing tax advisory processes and promoting consistent tax practices across the organization.
