Job summary

Hitachi Energy Poland seeks a Deputy Tax Manager to drive a broad tax agenda across VAT, CIT, WHT, and MDR, while partnering with business leaders and shared services. You will influence operational and strategic tax activities for Polish entities, leveraging tax technology and process automation to build a modern function.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in tax advisory/consulting, strong knowledge of Polish tax regulation, and proficiency in English and Polish.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate tax, tax advisory, or consulting.
Strong knowledge of Polish tax regulations, including VAT, CIT, and WHT.
Experience managing complex tax matters across multiple tax disciplines.
Understanding of international taxation and double tax treaties.
Experience with tax technology, ERP systems, or digital transformation projects.

Responsibilities

Support direct and indirect tax matters across VAT, CIT, WHT, excise duties, and MDR.
Oversee tax return filings and reporting obligations in Poland.
Contribute to quarterly and annual tax positions and current/deferred tax reporting.
Assist in transfer pricing reporting and tax optimization opportunities.
Identify gaps and drive efficiency improvements in tax processes and governance.
Participate in global tax reporting processes and tax-related projects (e.g., J-CFC).
Support tax technology/digitalization initiatives and automate processes where possible.
Maintain tax documentation, calendars, and audit-ready files while collaborating with authorities and internal partners.
