Job summary

Dover Imaging & Identification (DII) seeks a visionary Mechanical Engineering Leader to steer standards, processes, and performance across our global R&D. You will lead a distributed engineering community, influence product development, and ensure high-performance, cost-effective mechanical solutions across sites.

You will define global standards, act as a technical authority, and drive collaboration with product teams, ensuring readiness for project gates and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in mechanical engineering R&D within global industrial environments.
• 10+ years of direct and indirect leadership experience managing teams across multiple regions.
• Willingness to travel internationally as needed up to 10-15% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Mechanical Engineering Discipline worldwide, collaborating with engineers globally, and ensuring alignment with business strategy and product roadmaps.
• Define and deploy global standards, methodologies, training, and tools for mechanical design and development.
• Act as a technical authority and advisor to engineering leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Work closely with product development teams at all sites to support program execution, design reviews, and readiness for project gates.
• Promote cross-team collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with business leaders, other engineering disciplines, and all company functions to meet business needs throughout the product life cycle.
