Job summary

Wärtsilä in Poland is seeking a Service Engineer, Mechanical to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, overhauls and commissioning on Wärtsilä engines and related mechanical systems. The role focuses on delivering high-quality service at customer sites worldwide, with travel and on-site inspections as needed.

The ideal candidate has a technical mechanical or marine engineering background, hands-on field service experience, and good English.

Qualifications

• Technical education in Mechanical, Marine Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with Wärtsilä engines or similar medium-bore diesel engines.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance expertise.
• Willingness to travel globally for approximately 7–8 months per year.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and overhauls on Wärtsilä engines and similar systems.
• Carry out inspections, repairs, and in-situ machining at customer sites and on vessels.
• Execute commissioning and pre-commissioning activities for mechanical systems and engines.
• Prepare accurate service reports, technical documentation, and expense reports.
• Support testing, trials, audits, and investigations while following Wärtsilä standards.
