Job summary

Demant Polska is seeking a senior customs and trade compliance leader to develop, implement, and continuously improve a global customs framework. You will govern the customs data model and act as the internal SME, guiding regional stakeholders and coordinating with external partners.

You will serve as the escalation point for complex customs matters and audits, while leading broker network governance and ensuring regulatory readiness across multiple regions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in customs/trade compliance.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Transport, Logistics, Supply chain or related field.
• Strong knowledge of HS classification, origin rules, FTAs, duties and Incoterms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and govern Demant's global customs framework and governance.
• Lead global data model for customs master data across systems and regions.
• Act as SME on customs and trade compliance for regional and local stakeholders.
• Serve as global escalation point for complex customs matters and audits.
• Oversee governance of Demant's global customs broker network and alignment of processes across regions.

What tasks are waiting for you?

• Developing, implementing, and continuously improving Demant's global customs and related trade compliance framework, ensuring consistent governance, clear responsibilities, effective controls, risk assessment, performance monitoring, and audit readiness;
• Driving the development and governance of Demant's global customs data model, ensuring accurate, consistent, and appropriately controlled customs-related master data across systems, regions, and business processes;
• Acting as the internal subject matter expert on customs and customs-related trade compliance matters, providing strategic guidance and expert support to regional and local stakeholders;
• Acting as the global escalation point and providing expert support on significant or complex customs matters, including authority inquiries, audits, investigations, classification reviews, and situations where regulatory requirements or interpretations create challenges for Demant, facilitating appropriate assessment, decision‑making, and coordination across relevant internal and external stakeholders;
• Owning the governance and strategic management of Demant's global customs broker network, including broker strategy and selection, service and compliance requirements, performance governance, and alignment of customs processes across regions.

It would be great if you have:

• 7+ years of relevant experience, including demonstrated responsibility for
• developing or managing customs and trade compliance frameworks in an international organization;
• have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Transport, Logistics, Supply chain management or a related field;
• strong knowledge of customs and customs-related trade compliance requirements, including HS classification, Country of Origin, preferential origin and Free Trade Agreements, customs valuation, duties, tariffs, and Incoterms;
• strong understanding of global import and export processes within a manufacturing, distribution, or complex supply chain environment;
• experience developing and maintaining customs compliance frameworks, controls, policies, governance processes, and audit readiness across multiple countries or regions;
• experience supporting significant customs audits, compliance reviews, regulatory inquiries, and complex customs-related matters.
