Job summary

Hitachi ABB Power Grids in Łódź, Poland seeks a mechanical/automation engineer to join our global R&D team. You will create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for standard transformer accessories, support reusable components, and maintain a central engineering repository across international projects.

You'll collaborate with engineering and supply chain, ensure designs meet standards, contribute to data quality initiatives in PLM/PDM, and support migration of legacy data.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or similar.
• Proficient in 3D modelling and 2D documentation in Creo or similar CAD tools.
• Understanding of design standards, norms and best practices.
• Experience with PLM/PDM tools is an advantage.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Fluent English for international collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for standard parts.
• Ensure designs meet engineering and quality standards.
• Collaborate to define component specifications per form-fit-function.
• Support factories in implementing standardized components.
• Analyze and classify engineering part data for mapping and CAD prep.
• Support migration of legacy data into a central repository.
• Contribute to data quality and standardization initiatives.
