Job summary

Wilhelmsen group in Szczecin is seeking an experienced Senior GL Team Lead to drive end-to-end accounting processes in our Global Shared Service Center. You will guide a diverse team and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting within a collaborative, international environment.

You will manage month- and year-end closes, optimize GL processes, coach team members, and coordinate with internal stakeholders to deliver compliant, efficient service and continuous improvement across the accounting

Qualifications

• +8 years of accounting experience in SSC/BPO.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Team Leader/Coordinator/Senior.
• Education related to economics, finance, accountancy.
• Excellent understanding of GL processes and ability to improve them.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve cross-system issues.
• Good planning and organizational skills with adaptability.
• Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the GL team and set goals, provide feedback, conduct performance reviews, and support recruitment activities.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring deadlines and data integrity.
• Lead knowledge transfer and transition projects from local finance offices ensuring onboarding continuity.
• Monitor team performance, workload distribution, and service delivery against SLAs with high quality and efficiency.
• Coach and develop team members through regular 1-to-1s and development initiatives.
• Drive continuous process improvement, standardization, and operational excellence.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, providing professional support and ensuring excellent customer service.
• Manage issue resolution and escalation processes, proposing solutions to operational challenges and ensuring compliance with procedures.
• Support GL Manager in ad hoc tasks and projects.

Support us with:

• Leading the GL team and taking responsibility for end-to-end processes and service delivery, including setting individual and team goals, providing feedback, conducting performance reviews and supporting recruitment activities

• Managing month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring deadlines are met and financial data are accurate, complete and compliant with Corporate Accounting Guidelines

• Leading knowledge transfer and transition projects from local finance offices while ensuring smooth onboarding of processes and operational continuity

• Monitoring team performance, workload distribution and service delivery against agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs), ensuring high quality and efficiency of operations

• Supporting and developing team members through coaching, regular 1-to-1 meetings, performance feedback and professional development initiatives

• Driving continuous process improvement, standardization and operational excellence by identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness

• Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal stakeholders, providing professional support and ensuring excellent customer service

• Supporting GL Manager in various ad hoc tasks and projects

You will thrive in this role if you have:

• +8 years of accounting experience in SSC/BPO

• At least 3 years of experience as a Team Leader/Coordinator/Senior

• Education related to economics, finance, accountancy

• Excellent understanding of processes in GL and proven ability to constantly improve these processes

• Highly developed problem-solving skills including the ability to resolve issues impacting different interconnected systems;

• Good planning and organizational skills, with ability to adapt to changing environment

• Ability to build good relationships with different stakeholders
