Guardian Glass in Katowice, Poland, is seeking a GL Accountant Intern (Payables & Payroll) to join our finance team. You will support AP and payroll processes, process accounting documents, and prepare GL journal entries in line with company policies.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; knowledge of GL, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close; strong Excel skills and English proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Support accounting processes related to Accounts Payable (AP) and Payroll activities.
  • Process accounting documents and prepare General Ledger (GL) journal entries in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly accruals and other closing entries.
  • Perform account reconciliations related to expenses, liabilities, and payroll accounts.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified during reconciliation activities.
  • Support month-end close activities and ensure timely completion of financial reporting requirements.
  • Prepare financial reports, analyses, and supporting documentation for internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests by preparing required schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Collect, verify, maintain, and archive accounting records in compliance with company procedures and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with finance and business teams to resolve accounting issues and explain account balances and transactions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency, accuracy, and standardization within accounting processes.

What You Will Do
  • Support accounting processes related to Accounts Payable (AP) and Payroll activities.
  • Process accounting documents and prepare General Ledger (GL) journal entries in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience in General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Payroll Accounting, or other finance/accounting functions.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting processes.
  • Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and month-end close activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems/ERP platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience in a shared services, multinational, or global business environment.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems.
  • Experience supporting internal and external audits.
  • Understanding of payroll accounting processes and statutory requirements.
  • Experience with process improvement, automation, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, or reporting automation.
  • Professional accounting certification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent), completed or in progress.
  • Experience working with large volumes of financial transactions and complex account reconciliations.
