Job summary

PwC Poland’s Finance Managed Services (FMS) team is seeking an Accounting Expert — project environment — to join a dynamic, expanding group. You will manage end-to-end GL processes, ensure timely closes, and provide SME support to the team and stakeholders while driving improvements across IFRS and local GAAP frameworks.

You will work with ERP systems like SAP and Oracle, exhibit strong Excel skills, and mentor junior staff. A hybrid work model and broad development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in General Ledger accounting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or local GAAP.
• Advanced ERP systems experience (SAP, Oracle).
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Proven experience with month-end/year-end closing and complex reconciliations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication with senior stakeholders.
• Professional working proficiency in English.
• Proactive, detail-oriented and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Managing end-to-end General Ledger accounting processes, including complex journal entries, accruals, provisions, and reclassifications.
• Overseeing and ensuring the accuracy of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Performing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, including resolving aged items.
• Acting as a subject matter expert for GL accounting, providing guidance to the team and stakeholders.
• Ensuring IFRS/local GAAP compliance and internal policies.
• Identifying opportunities for process optimization and continuous improvement.
• Collaborating with auditors during audit processes.
• Mentoring junior team members in their professional development.
• Participating in or leading system implementation, migrations or process transitions.

You can play an important role in supporting and transforming the operations of our domestic and international Clients. We continuously enhance our operations by applying best practices, streamlining processes, and integrating cutting-edge technological solutions for our customers. Join us in shaping and transforming operations for our domestic and international clients, as we delve into diverse, complex projects and collaborate closely with expert consulting teams to provide comprehensive finance services, including accounting and reporting, tax as well as financial planning & analysis, across various sectors in the region.

Accounting Expert - project environment

• Managing end-to-end General Ledger accounting processes, including complex journal entries, accruals, provisions, and reclassifications,
• Overseeing and ensuring the accuracy of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities,
